Jesus commanded us to make disciples…teaching them to obey all that He commanded us. At Impact195, we believe that truth isn’t learned until it’s lived. Our curriculum is about more than just gaining information; it’s about life transformation. This transformation experience is a combination of three terms with three distinct focuses.
There is no greater commandment than to love God and to love others. The first term of IMPACT 195 is focused on making the greatest commandment a practical reality in everyday life. This first term is packed with courses that will help you discover community by transforming your identity in Christ, internalizing the greatness of God’s unfailing love, and challenging you to a higher level of love in your relationships by studying through Ephesians, Romans, and 1 John.
God has done more than just called us out of darkness; He has also call us to walk in the light. The second term of IMPACT 195 focuses on the fundamentals of walking in the light in everyday life. Through the course of the second term, you will develop Character by growing in your ability to use wisdom in your decision-making, establishing habits of Christ-like character, and building your life on a foundation of integrity through studying Proverbs, Mark, and Nehemiah.
The great commission is to bring God’s love to the entire world. The third term of IMPACT 195 is focused on helping you understand your specific role in the great commission. You will determine your Calling by learning and practically using your gifts and by understanding and responding to God’s call to walk in His promises through studying Acts, Jonah, and Joshua.
Oswald Chambers once said, “prayer does not prepare you for the greater work, prayer is the greater work.” At IMPACT 195, prayer is the priority, which is why very morning at IMPACT 195 you will start your day off with a time of prayer and worship, you will be prayed over daily by our prayer team, and you are also encouraged to spend as much time as you want in our prayer chapel.
Prayer is such a priority that once every term IMPACT 195 hosts a weeklong prayer and worship event where we gather both day and night classes to humbly seek the Lord. It is in these powerful times that the Lord often does some of His greatest transforming work in the lives of the World Changers.
12:2 trips get their name from Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Every term has it’s own 12:2 trip, which is an intense, week long time of transformation and mind renewal.
1st Term – John Adventure: It is a backpacking trip on Catalina island where you will get away from the everyday distractions of life (work, cell phones, emails, etc.), develop lifelong friendships, and spend an entire day of uninterrupted time with the Lord. It is during this time dedicated to experiencing God and loving others that most of our World Changers experience significant breakthroughs and life transformation.
2nd Term – Nehemiah Challenge: This is a foundational trip for character revealing and development. During the Nehemiah Challenge you will spend extended time diving deep into God’s word, you will experience extensive paradigm shifts in your thinking, and you will participate in activities designed to solidify the lessons you have learned.
3rd Term – Joshua Campaign: The Bible teaches that all the promises of God are “Yes” and “Amen” in Jesus. It also states that we have been given “exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature.” This amazing mountain top experience will explore the key principles necessary to enter, walk in, and inherit the fullness of God’s promises.
In addition to the 12:2 trips, you will also experience a week of intensive teaching focused on accelerating your transition to the next level of the equipping process. At the end of your first term you will dive into DEPTH week in order to accelerate you into a season of deepening your character. Towards the end of your second term you will discover DESIGN week as you get catapulted into a greater understanding of your calling. As you are finishing up your third term you will develop the tools necessary to move you out into effective ministry with DRIVE week.
DEPTH Week: One of the greatest determining factors for success in life is Character. In the long run, those with DEPTH of character will consistently out perform those with talent. During DEPTH week, you will discover what DEPTH of character is and you will acquire the tools to develop it in your life. DEPTH stands for: Doctrine (Character is determined by what you believe—if you believe the right things you will have the right character), Emotional Intelligence (knowing how your emotions work and acquiring the skill to use them appropriately), Practices (developing spiritual practices will cause sustained spiritual growth through your life), Trials (a large part of character is knowing how to deal with trails biblically), and History (adopting the proper perspective about the past). By understanding theses five components to Character, you will be able to become more Christlike.
DESIGN Week: God is multifaceted designer. He has created each one of us uniquely; we have been designed by Him to accomplish His will. In Design week, you will discover how God has designed you and what that means for God’s call on your life. Through DESIGN week, you will learn about your Disposition (your personality type), Emotional Maturity (how to use your emotions effectively), Strengths (your natural talents God has given you), Inclinations in Ministry (your preferred work style), Gifts (your spiritual Gifts), and Natural Abilities (skills you have learned throughout life). By understanding these six components of your DESIGN, you will gain insight into the contribution God has created you to make in this world.
DRIVE Week: You have been created for a specific purpose. Once you understand that purpose it is important to start moving purposefully forward in your calling. During DRIVE week you will discover how to start moving into God’s purpose for your life. DRIVE stands for: Direction (God’s has given us a GPS that points us in the right direction), Relationships (discover how to keep your gas tank full), Initiative (understanding the gear you were created to move in), Vision (learn the three tools God has given us to see where we are going), and Excuses (overcome the typical excuses that keep you from moving forward).
