IMPACT195 School of Ministry Pastor, Scott Wessell, talks about the link between God's image in us and worship. In Genesis 1:26-27 we are told that humanity alone was created in God's image. Nothing else in all of creation was made in his image. In a sense, we are a mirror for God; we're designed to reflect his glory back to him. Reflecting God's glory back to him is another way of saying we were created to worship. Worship is a fundamental part of our nature and as humans we cannot stop worshiping. That means that all of us have a need, a compulsion, if you will, to worship. For a human to stop worshiping would be like a fish trying to stop living in water—we would need to be other than what we are to stop worshiping, we would need to cease being human. Because our need to worship is so great and comes so naturally to us, the question we all need to ask ourselves is, "What am I worshiping?"
