Irina Petrini

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2.10

Irina was actually born in Romania. Years later, her parents immigrated to the U.S. in order to flee the cruelties of the Communist regime. As a child, Irina recalled watching with horror and disbelief the numerous Romanian orphans on TV, as organizations desperately pleaded for aid for their ultimate survival.

Irina then committed her life to Christ as a Freshman in high school, and yet many years later, struggled with two conflicting desires: should Irina go to medical school to become an M.D., or should she become a missionary where her heart felt so pulled toward the helpless and orphaned children in Romania?

In her heart, Irina then realized that both desires did not in fact conflict at all, but instead could grow harmoniously together. And so, after finishing Optometry school, Irina now finds herself truly rejoicing in the moment as she prepares herself to return to the land God had been calling her to return to her entire life and in a way she never could have imagined – with 21 other fellow world changers from IMPACT195 this August.

Irina now realizes she is not just going back to Romania, she's going back to return her heart and her love to the orphans in her homeland. Irina is in fact finally returning to do God's work He pre–destined and called her to perform all along.
