"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12.9.

Chloe Sheehan had a brain tumor. The journey to diagnosis was difficult. At first, it was thought she had the stomach flu. A CAT scan, helicopter ride and surgery later, the diagnosis was sure. That all happened before she was a teenager. Now, not yet 20 years of age, Chloe has been processing this reality for nearly a decade.

God brought many people along the way to help her cope; Chloe's grandfather had a significant influence on her life.

"There were a lot of difficult circumstances in my childhood and Grandpa brought me such comfort. He would take me on long walks and tell me about God and share stories from the Bible. He would read to me from the Bible. He would tell me of the Word of God and how it was active and living and that God could speak to me through it." Chloe's journey to Jesus was difficult.

She sought solace from her pain through immorality and drugs and her heart progressively grew hard and bitter and impenetrable. Despite the condition of her heart, God led Chloe to Rock Church.

"I began to attend regularly and on September 6th, 2009 I turned a corner with my walk with the Lord. Pastor Miles did a sermon and at the very end he challenged the congregation to read through the Bible in a year. I began to open my bible every morning and disciplined myself to be faithful to read...I knew that even though I didn't understand it as I read, that if I just cried out to God for understanding, that God would grant it to me like my Grandpa had said. God did. Grandpa was right."

In October Chloe decided there were too many distractions in the city and decided to move to the outskirts of San Diego so that she could be in position to hear from God.

"While out there, all I did was read and pray and fast."

God spoke to Chloe during that time about how He wanted use her for His good purposes in the future and a desire to get equipped began to brew inside of her. In March 2010, Chloe decided to join IMPACT 195. God began to trade her heart of stone for a heart of flesh. He taught her how to forgive and how to be humble.

"I learned that God's love is real."

The second term of IMPACT195, Chloe learned that she had another tumor in her brain and that it was growing. It did not effect her daily life, but was growing in a spot where it was inoperable. God told Chloe to be strong and courageous and Chloe clung to Joshua 1:6 as she went with her class to do something for God in Haiti that June.

"God revealed to me on that trip that I was like the landscape, full of brokenness, rubble and ruin, but that when He looked at me He saw beauty because He was looking at me through the filter of His Son, Jesus Christ. I could now look at others in the same way. I got to hold orphans, love the widows and in so doing felt God loving and holding me."

This December, Chloe will join 40 other IMPACT195 students on their journey to India to make the love of God tangible and real. She will be helping significantly with the prayer team while in country.

"It's not that I didn't before, but now, every day counts. I am going to redeem the time given to me and maximize them all."
